Like Main Street, Broadway, or First Avenue, Grief Street is found in
any town, city, or village.
When death finds its way to our door, it can
leave us feeling stranded and in need of directions and support.
Grief Street: A Family Bereavement Program was especially designed
by The Center for Grief Care and Education to assist families along
this road. We understand that the grief journey can be difficult and like
any new place you visit, you may need some help navigating and finding
your way. We are here to help.
Grief Street: A Family Bereavement Program assists families by
supporting both the family unit and each age group. Parents and
guardians can reflect on their own grief process and get assistance
in helping their children grieve. Everyone learns that they are not
alone in their grief process. There is someone to accompany them
on Grief Street. As one parent said, “It gave us a place to heal our hearts.”
This free service is held Tuesdays from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Hillcrest
area. Families with children ages 3 through 18 are encouraged to attend.
For more information and to schedule a required meeting with one
of our counselors, please call 619-278-6480 or send us an email to griefinfo@sdhospice.org.
