Lasting Gifts of Tribute Opportunities

A Thousand Words
With a gift of $500, to benefit the Center for Grief Care and Education, individuals can have a photograph tile placed on one of three columns for a two-year period. Located on the western point of the San Diego Hospice campus, each column rotates to provide viewing from any vantage point.

Memorial Point
With a gift of $2,500, a permanent 1'x 3" stone surrounding the foundation of the flagpole will be engraved with your loved one's name in the Memorial Point and flagpole area, dedicated to those individuals who have contributed to the strength of our country.

Pillars of Inspiration
With a gift of $10,000 or more, individuals may choose one of the pre-selected inspirational messages to be engraved onto a stone plaque and mounted on one of the distinctive pillars on the grounds of San Diego Hospice and The Institute for Palliative Medicine. The individual's name will also appear on the plaque.

Wall of Tribute
With a gift of $1,000 or more, individuals may elect to have a copper leaf plaque engraved with a personal inscription. The leaf is affixed permanently to the "Wall of Tribute," located on the San Diego Hospice and The Institute for Palliative Medicine campus, making a beautiful and lasting remembrance of your loved one.

Tribute Garden
With a gift of $2,500, $5,000, $10,000, or $25,000, a permanent stone (varying in size depending on the size of your gift), will be engraved with your loved one's name in the Tribute Garden at San Diego Hospice and The Institute for Palliative Medicine. The Tribute Garden is on the westernmost point of our Hillcrest campus, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Mission Valley. The area is designed as a plaza, fully open, with plants and benches flanking its sides. A bronze sculpture of a woman and child highlights the northern end of the garden.

Planned Giving - Click Here for more information

The planned giving staff at San Diego Hospice & Palliative Care stands ready to help you meet your unique financial needs by:

  • Providing gift plans that benefit you and your family
  • Bringing immediate and deferred tax advantages to both you and your heirs

Our work, which is to relieve human suffering, will never end. But when you remember your loved one with a memorial contribution to our work, you help us open another loving space for someone who needs us.

We currently serve nearly 1,000 patients daily, and provide grief care and education to more than 11,000 people a year. We couldn’t do it without the help of the community.

Your gift can help us relieve the pain and suffering of a little girl with terminal cancer while we help her family to live each precious moment with her.

Your gift can support a young physician’s desire to become a palliative medicine specialist and help change the way medical care is given in the future—to bring more respect, compassion and expertise, to focus on the individual.

Your gift can allow us to give the comfort of hospice care to those who cannot afford it. And help support our Inpatient Care Center on the Hillcrest campus, a teaching hospital for physician fellows and nurses, and the only hospice hospital in California.

We thank you for helping us. You Matter.
